Associate Trainers

Million Leaders Mandate was launched in Asia in January of 2003 and expanded to Africa, Europe, and Latin America in successive years from 2004 to 2006.  EQUIP's Million Leaders Mandate has rapidly become the epicenter of Christian leadership development worldwide.  We invite you to consider serving as an Associate Trainer in this spiritual movement that is developing effective leaders to reach the nations for Christ.

EQUIP staff and  Associate Trainers (pastors and Christian business leaders) are training tens of thousands of certified trainers in key nations, who in turn will train 25 other leaders each. The exponential result is millions of leaders trained.

The first goal was one million leaders involved in training, which was accomplished in March of 2006; however, there are more to be trained!

Million Leaders Mandate features a three-year leadership development strategy.  Two volunteer Associate Trainers teach a two-day Train the Trainers Leadership Conference every six months in the same city over a period of three years.   Listed below are regions which are included in the training.  Each region is in a different stage of the ongoing leadership training process.

Asia and Middle East - India, Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, China and other nations

Africa - South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Uganda, Zambia and other nations

Europe - UK, Germany, Romania, Ukraine, Russia and many other nations

Latin America – Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Chile and other nations

What is the criteria for serving as an Associate Trainer?

Senior Pastors and Christian Business Leaders who are:

  • Founders Club members
  • Proven leaders
  • Gifted communicators
  • Willing to commit two weeks per year for three years to a specific region
  • Willing to underwrite own travel and personal expenses

Placement Criteria:

  • The assignment will be within an MLM target country and an MLM region.
  • We will endeavor to honor the mission and vision of the local sending church and assign their pastor to a nation that fits with what they are already doing globally.
  • We may assign some Trainers based on their denominational or doctrinal persuasion.
  • We will try to assemble teaching teams of compatible leaders.
  • We will assign Associate Trainers based on the number of leaders needed for the launch of a given region.
  • We will need approximately 175-200 Trainers over the course of the entire program.

Ultimately, EQUIP must retain the final decision in placement of the Associate Trainers because we simply have to cover all the bases and will not be able to give everyone their first preference.

Q: Who may serve as an Associate Trainer?
A: Pastors and Christian business/professional leaders who are proven leaders and able communicators.
back

Q: What is the time commitment?
A: The Associate Trainer must be willing to commit to a specific international city for two conferences per year for three years. When travel time is added, each conference requires a commitment of about one week. back

Q: What is the financial commitment?
A: Each Associate Trainer is expected to underwrite their own travel expenses (airfare, lodging, meals, etc) and to become a member of either the EQUIP Founders Club or the EQUIP Investors Club, depending on which country they would like to train. A Founder gives $12,000 per year or $1000 per month to EQUIP to help cover the cost of international leadership curriculum. An Investor gives $6000 per year or $500 per month. If a church joins the Founders or Investors Club, a member of the pastoral staff may serve as an Associate Trainer. back

Q: May I select the city that I will teach?
A: Your assignment will be in a city in one of the targeted nations. We will do everything possible to honor your preference. back

Q: May I select my teaching partner?
A: We will certainly consider your preferences. We will try to put together a two-person team that is compatible, yet includes as much diversity in leadership experience as possible. For example, we will often pair a pastor with a business leader. back

Q: What curriculum will I teach?
A: The EQUIP team has developed a series of six leadership notebooks (one for each of the six conferences). Each notebook contains six leadership lessons based upon leadership principles and concepts taught for many years by John C. Maxwell. The lessons have been designed for use with an international audience. A notebook (usually in the local language) will be given to each attendee (or Certified Trainer) at the beginning of each training event. At the close of the conference, each leader who covenants to mentor 25 other leaders will be given an additional 25 notebooks.
back

Q: How long are the conferences?
A: Each conference will be for one and a half to two days. Most likely, you will teach three of the lessons and your partner will teach three. Both of you will also participate in a daily Q & A session.
back

Q: Will an interpreter be needed?
A: This issue varies from country to country. If needed, a top-notch interpreter will be assigned to you by the local Coordinator.
back

Q: What training will I receive from EQUIP?
A: You will be asked to attend a Communication Clinic at EQUIP headquarters in Atlanta before you teach your first overseas conference. The Clinic acquaints you with the Million Leaders Mandate curriculum and addresses cross-cultural issues unique to the region of the world where you will be teaching. Throughout the three-year process, we also send you teaching ideas and tools to assist you in preparing to teach the leadership lessons. back

Q: Will I handle my own travel arrangements?
A: You will be responsible to make your own flight arrangements; however, our staff in Atlanta and the EQUIP Coordinator in your assigned nation will gladly assist you. Ground transportation, lodging, meals, etc. in your assigned country will be arranged by the local Coordinator. If you wish for family and/or friends to travel with you, please inform the EQUIP office. back

Q: May I schedule other activities while I am overseas for EQUIP?
A: Yes. Your only obligation to EQUIP is to participate fully in the two-day leadership conference. If you wish to arrange other ministry opportunities and/or sightseeing, you will need to inform the EQUIP Coordinator in the country where you will be serving. back
