Canada Update

More and more Canadians are catching a vision for EQUIP! This past year John Hull along with Lorie Hartshorn, Director of Advancement for The EQUIP Foundation Canada shared the EQUIP story at two dinner evenings and hosted three EQUIP training days in the Toronto area. With the partnership of Richmond Hill Christian Community Church and Rhema Christian Ministries, more than 500 leaders from churches and the business community experienced a day of EQUIP training. There is a new excitement to be involved with EQUIP’s mandate to train leaders worldwide. We welcome 8 new Associate Trainers to our team as well as 4 new Partnerships!

Canadians are connecting with the strategic mission of EQUIP to “Fulfill the Great Commission in every nation, through effective Christian leaders.” This past year has seen a significant increase in donations to EQUIP from Canadians. Canadians can donate online at www.CanadaHelps.org

It was a privilege to have John Maxwell come to Edmonton in September! We enjoyed some great Canadian hospitality in Ron & Shelby Fehr’s beautiful log home. The vision for EQUIP was shared and $48,500 was raised that evening to support the training up of leaders! There was a strong desire to see EQUIP’s training taking place in Canada as well. There are several Associate Trainers and Partnerships coming from that small group that caught the vision!

You can also see John Hull and Lorie Hartshorn on a CTS program ‘Whatido’ as they share leadership lessons with host Robert Melnichuk. It is our desire to see more Canadians supporting the work of EQUIP as well as experiencing the EQUIP training for themselves. 2010 will be an exciting year of greater opportunities for Canadians to connect with EQUIP.
