The leaders who went through Million Leaders Mandate Volume 1 in Africa are still very active in training others! Even though the continent of Africa has begun Million Leaders Mandate Volume 2 training, it’s exciting to hear reports of Volume 1 continuing to be taught by Certified Trainers.

 The analogy of a "flyover" is often overused and as a result, often under-valued!
However, a "flyover" of EQUIP’s long-term leadership development strategy and curricula is important to review. That way both present and future friends of the ministry can easily and visually grasp the “Big Picture Perspective” of not only where and who EQUIP trains - but express the strategic approach with which we are providing partners around the globe!
EQUIP is very close to completing our third volume of six freestanding (yet carefully coordinated) notebooks on leadership growth and organizational development. The first volume (6 notebooks/36 leadership lessons) was completed in 2003. The second volume (6 notebooks/36 leadership lessons) came to fruition in 2007 and 2008. Later this year, EQUIP’s third volume (6 notebooks/36 leadership lessons) will be nearly completed and launched in 2010/11.

“Cuba for Christ” is the theme of the church in Cuba! That statement did not shock me – what did was this statement: “Thousands are coming to Christ every month.”
 I just returned from one of the most rewarding trips I have ever made. The desire for me to make this trip started five years ago, but the timing was not right earlier – this was the time.
EQUIP, in partnership with Lidere, has been working in Cuba for a number of years. Today the faith- based community in Cuba is being led by great leaders, who are taking their faith-based community to new heights. They have and are developing their character, their skills and the strategic formation necessary to accomplish far more than we could ever have imagined. All this is possible because of the work of our partners- John Vereecken, who has been working in Cuba for 15 plus years, and those who have supported EQUIP.
I found Cuba to be a place of wonder. The scenery is outstanding. The people are incredibly friendly and passionate even though they live under strict restrictions and governmental control. “It was a day that cannot be easily forgotten,” wrote Peter Mitimingi, EQUIP’s partner in Tanzania. October 18, 2008, was the official Million Leaders Mandate (MLM) graduation for 200 church leaders in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Graduates were adorned in caps, gowns, and all!
 Dar es Salaam is the largest city in Tanzania and the economic center of this East African country. Church leaders from fifty different denominations graduated from Volume 1 of the MLM training in Dar es Salaam.
Peter said, “The training has helped the pastors and church leaders to be united in Christ and forget their differences of denominations. They have grown spiritually and mentally as well.”
Peter Mitimingi has led the Million Leaders Mandate three-year leadership development process in Tanzania, training leaders in six cities throughout Tanzania. Peter and his team have been using the Million Leaders Mandate material to equip church leaders for greater effectiveness.
