Associate Trainers

Volunteer Associate Trainers teach EQUIP’s Biblical leadership curriculum to key Christian leaders in targeted nations worldwide.

WHO MAY SERVE AS AN ASSOCIATE TRAINER?
Pastors and Christian business/professional leaders who are proven leaders and able communicators.

WHAT IS THE TIME COMMITMENT?
The Associate Trainer must be willing to commit to a specific international city for two
conferences per year for three years.  With travel time considered, each conference requires a commitment of about one week.

WHAT IS THE FINANCIAL COMMITMENT?
Each Associate Trainer is expected to underwrite their own travel expenses (airfare, lodging, meals, etc.) An Associate Trainer gives $6,000 per year or $500 per month to EQUIP to help cover the cost of international leadership curriculum.

MAY I SELECT THE CITY WHERE I WILL TEACH?
Your assignment will be in a city in one of the targeted nations.  We will do everything possible to honor your preference.

MAY I SELECT MY TEACHING PARTNER?
We will certainly consider your preferences.  Our goal is to put together a two-person team that is compatible, yet includes as much diversity in leadership experience as possible.  For example, we will often pair a pastor with a business leader.

WHAT CURRICULUM WILL I TEACH?
The EQUIP team has developed two volumes of curriculum. Each volume is a series of six leadership notebooks (one for each of the six conferences). Each notebook contains six leadership lessons based upon leadership principles and concepts taught for many years by John C. Maxwell.  The lessons have been designed for use with an international audience. A notebook (in the local language) will be given to each attendee at the beginning of each conference.  At the close of the conference each leader who commits to mentor other leaders will be given additional notebooks.

HOW LONG ARE THE CONFERENCES?
Although the duration of conferences may vary, the typical conference is two days.  You will teach three of the lessons and your training partner will teach three. Both of you will participate in a daily Q & A session.

WILL A TRANSLATOR BE NEEDED?
This varies from country to country. If needed, a top-notch translator will be assigned by the local coordinator.

WHAT TRAINING WILL I RECEIVE FROM EQUIP?
You will be asked to attend SQUARE 1, a two day training at EQUIP headquarters in Atlanta, before you teach your first international conference.  The training acquaints you with the Million Leaders Mandate curriculum and addresses cross-cultural issues. Throughout the three-year process you will have access to teaching ideas and tools to assist you in preparing to teach the leadership lessons. You can register at www.iEQUIP.org/SQUARE1.

WILL I HANDLE MY OWN TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS?
You will be responsible for making your own flight arrangements, however, our staff in Atlanta can recommend preferred travel agencies. The EQUIP Coordinator in your assigned nation will gladly assist you with ground transportation and accommodations. If you wish for family and/or friends to travel with you, please inform the EQUIP office.

MAY I SCHEDULE OTHER ACTIVITIES WHILE I AM OVERSEAS FOR EQUIP?
Yes. Your only obligation to EQUIP is to participate fully in the MLM leadership conference.  If you wish to arrange other ministry opportunities and/or sightseeing, you will need to inform the EQUIP Coordinator in the country where you will be serving.
