Compassion International’s Leadership Development Program is partnering with EQUIP to build young leaders for God's Kingdom! The Leadership Development Program (LDP) is designed to identify and provide opportunity for outstanding Christian young people who have been assisted by Compassion International to develop their potential as Christian leaders and contributors in their spheres of influence.
One of the unique components of this program is EQUIP’s intense Biblically-based servant leadership training. There are now over 1800 students in 16 developing countries who are going through the training.
Two of the Brazilian LDP students had the opportunity to meet John Maxwell at the Million Leaders Mandate held recently in São Paulo. Damares stated: “I remember one thing he said that touched me very much: 'One way to have a leader spirit, you must read, say what you’ve read, and write about it…and this must happen everyday’. Since that day I have been trying to apply that statement, and I know it is hard, but it works! He solved some of my doubts about the future, gave us instruction and prayed for us. It was a blessing!” Rogério adds: “What an opportunity to meet John Maxwell! It is good to know that we are learning about leadership with a person who lives as a good leader. I’m enjoying learning to be a great leader….I’m just getting started!”
This is just one more example where we can see the vision the Lord gave to John C. Maxwell coming to fruition in helping to fulfill The Great Commission. To God be all the glory!
