We were recently blessed with a visit to our office by Pastor Raphael Silwamba of Zambia who has gone through EQUIP’s training. He eagerly shared his story before we could even ask an interview question! What he shared is an amazing picture of the difference that leadership training makes for ministry leaders.
 Pastor Silwamba shared with gratitude in his eyes, “I have been in ministry for 23 years. But most of us came out of Bible school without learning how to be a leader. So, when I heard of the training, I wanted to be there. So I went twice per year! When I did Notebook 1- I went out to the pastors in my area- I told them it was John Maxwell’s material – nobody wanted to miss out on that! They didn’t want to be left behind! They all wanted to be trained! So I started in book 1 and taught them all the way through book 6.”
“I’ve trained my board members and the leaders around me, and now we know what God expects us to do. It is bringing major multiplication and church growth because when the leader knows what to do, the people follow and discover what God wants them to do.
This is happening in my area.”
“I’ve come to realize that God is expecting me to raise Godly leaders within the congregation. This training has brought me confidence. Previously I would be afraid that someone would take my position and so I would try to push that person down. This training has helped me to release people- because I know I am secure in my calling and I want to be able to help others be in their calling. I was very insecure before, but now it is an honor to raise others up in what God has called them to do. Many leaders have experienced this change because of EQUIP.”
“Because of the generosity of those who support EQUIP, I have trained 45 senior leaders who are now training leaders in their denominations. My church has now planted 28 other churches!”
