Raising More Than Money: By Doug Carter

For more than 40 years Doug Carter has devoted his life to serving others. Before becoming president of Ohio Christian University, he and his wife served as missionaries to American Indians for 16 years. Since 1996, Doug Carter has served as Senior Vice President at EQUIP.

In Raising More Than Money, author Doug Carter addresses such questions with a question of his own:

“Why would God give us ‘extra’ of anything—more time, talent or treasure than we need? Could the key reason be so that we can participate personally in fulfilling the Great Commission?” (p. 11)

The holiday season is just around the corner and opportunities for charitable giving abound. But how much is enough? Must money be dropped in the red bucket upon entrance to every store?

Author Doug Carter addresses such questions with a question of his own:

"Why would God give us 'extra' of anything - more time, talent or treasure than we need?  Could the key reason be so that we can participate personally in fulfilling the Great Commission?" (p. 11)

In stores Nov. 6, Raising More than Money answers challenging questions about giving using inspiring and practical examples found in the Bible and gleaned from the life of Carter.

“Always emphasize giving as an act of worship,” writes Carter, who currently serves as senior vice president of the global leadership development ministry, EQUIP.

“Stewardship is a matter of trust—both my trusting God to provide His resources and His trusting me to use those resources wisely and generously, for His honor and the building of His Kingdom.” (p.77)
